Editor’s Forward

Imaginations for All is a digital zine edited and designed by Zhongxiao Chen (Claire). It is a capstone project for her MFA communication design thesis at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York, in 2022. Her thesis, Post-body, is a collection of visual work that explores women's relationships with their bodies. During Zhongxiao's research about feminism theories and speculative thinkings, feminist science fiction became a fascinating subject in between. Therefore she decided to make this digital publication to celebrate the genre. She hopes this zine can convey feminist Science Fiction's magnetic and empowerment to the readers. These authors and their wild imaginations have inspired her visual style and influenced her worldview.

The name Imaginations for All means feminist Science Fiction, feminist speculative thinking represent the most current feminist thinking that we should care about the equality issue in the gender, race, class, and species.
